How do u set timing on a 1983 honda 200x three wheeler?

I had to change the head gasket and i have looked every where to find out how to set the timing chain so the it will firer i put the lift down adn the piston top dead center and it wont start. i you have an idea how to set the timing please tell me .How do u set timing on a 1983 honda 200x three wheeler? You take the little cap off that is on top of the block on the left side and you will see the flywheel. When you see it, either have someone move the kickstarter down slow or do it yourself with your hand while you lean over the bike and look down at the flywheel. What you are looking for is a mark with a T next to it. when you find it, the engine is at top dead center when it is lined up with the notch that is where you took the cap off.

Next you take the cap off of the cylinder head and align the mark on the cdi to the mark on the head. You will have to take the chain back off to do this of course. when both marks are lined up.. the bike is in time. How do u set timing on a 1983 honda 200x three wheeler? You better do a little more research on this, there are other things involved. You'd better release the tensioner on the chain or it will be toast. I toasted one on an XR200 back around that time. Do some research on thumpertalk.com
