99 Chevy lumina wont run right?

i changed the head gaskets the heads were not warped so put it back together now when i try to start it, it will rough idle and die the plenium smells rich like its flooding and it acts like it needs timed but i don't see how that would be because i did'nt mess with the timing at all, however if it is a timing issue how do you time a computer controlled timing system

NOTE: i did have to cut the catalytic converter in half to get the rear heads off because the bolts were seized on it would that effect it

thanks for the help99 Chevy lumina wont run right?yes...that would effect it...if you left it that way your oxygen sensor will detect excess oxygen %26amp; your computer will try to rich-en up the mixture %26amp; advance the timing.....replace your converter....good luck!99 Chevy lumina wont run right?you may have an exhaust leak causing a false O2 sensor reading check for codes for a better clue

also make sure all vacuum lines are hooked up correctly and that there is no vacuum leak anywhere else as this will cause a rich fuel mixture

to check for a vacuum leak spray around engine with a water bottle filled with soapy water if you hear the engine stumble or stall this is a vacuum leak99 Chevy lumina wont run right?replace your converter and reset the computer module and presto problem solved99 Chevy lumina wont run right?Did you hook up all of the vacuum lines correctly? If you have the wrong vacuum line hooked up the the fuel pressure regulator that would make the engine get too much fuel pressure, therefore too much fuel in the engine.99 Chevy lumina wont run right?computers probbably off...is your valve lash correct?
