I have a 1988 Ford F-250 with a 302 EFI (Fuel Injected) its also 4x4, i have a major problem it wont start. It wont even start to turn over. Battery is fully charged and i replaced the starter... next check cable from positive to starter relay if it click went you start
if no click
check small connector on starter relay if rusty
if you have a click
may have bad starter relay bad grown bad ignition switch or neutral safety switch gone
Standard or auto trans
as for head gasket not bad
ps got a 88 250 302 4x4 plow truck and more ford truck
